The Old Town, situated just behind the Quay, has a quaint charm, with its narrow streets,
walkways and cobblestones. Here you will find small unique shops, art galleries, museums,
and pottery shops.
The Cockle Trail
Take a walk around the Cockle Trail, following the brass plaques in the pavements in the
Old Town, to discover some 750 years of Poole's history. The walk takes approximately 1½
hours and an accompanying leaflet available for 30p (price 2005) from the tourist information
centre will guide you round with informative text.
